Pastry Cream & Chocolate Chunks Brioche Wreath

Christmas is not total without wreath, either its edible or decoration you can find wreath everywhere during this festive season. Its been fairly a yearly tradition for me to bake as wreath and am trying to keep this since three years. However we dont forget to decorate our entrance door with a wreath as well. Coming to this brioche wreath, its fairly a riskyly addictve bread swirls which is definitely easy to shape and bake. Apart from preparing pastry cream and brioche dough, this wreath is fairly an easiest bread to give a try without any hesitation. Generally we wait for an hour to dig these sort of breads once they comes out of the oven but my kids went totally crazy when they smelled the aroma of this bread. Best part of this wreath is just to pull a bread and endelight it instantly.
Brioche Wreath, Pastry cream & Chocolate Wreath

Believe me, this wreath is definitely a beautwhetherul middle piece to decorate your Christmas dinner table. However you can make a savoury version of this edible wreath as well. We just love this sweet version of wreath and the vanilla pastry cream with chocolate chunks makes a prefect pair to endelight this bread without any spread. This week's posts for Bake-a-thon, a yearly baking event are going to be some delightful Christmas friendly bakes. After a brioche shaped as Santa claus, here come an another prefect Christmas bread aka brioche wreath for bake-a-thon.
Brioche Wreath, Custard Chocolate Brioche Wreath

4cups Bread flour or all purpose flour
1tbsp Athletic dry yeast
1/2cup Milk (luke warm)
1no Egg
2nos Egg yolks
1/2cup Sugar +1tsp Sugar
1tsp Salt
100grms Butter

Stir the yeast,a teaspoon of sugar and salt to the luke warm milk, keep aside until the yeast turns foamy.

Meanwhile take the flour,egg yolks,egg,sugar in a large bowl, add gradually the foamy yeast and turn everyleang as a soft dough, now add the butter and knead everyleang for 10minutes.

Arrange the dough in a bowl covered with a towel,keep aside for atleast for 2 hours until they double their volume.

Pastry Cream:

1+1/3cup Milk

2 Egg yolks

1tsp Vanilla additionalct

1tbsp Cornflour

1/4cup Sugar

Heat the milk  in simmer, meanwhile whisk the egg yolks with sugar and vanila additionalct.

Add the hot milk slowly and whisk everyleang, transfer this mixture in a saucepan and whisk until they turns thick in simmer.

Vanilla Custard & Chocolate Chunks Brioche Wreath

Pour it in a bowl and cover it with a clingfilm right on the surface of this  pastry cream to prevent the skin forming and cool it totally.

For Assembling:

Brioche dough

Pastry cream

Chocolate chunks (roughly chopped)

Egg yolk (for topping)

Flatten the dough with a rolling pin as a large rectangular disc, spread the pastry cream and sprinkle the roughly chopped chocolate chunks generously over the dough and roll the dough tightly to form a loaf.

With a sharp knwhethere, cut the loaf as medium sized pieces.

Pastry cream & Chocolate Chunks Edible Wreath

Line a baking sheet, arrange this swirled rolls one by one as a wreath and let them sit again in a warm place for half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 350F. Stir few drops of water to the egg yolk, mix it and brush on the top of the bread generously.

Bake the bread for 25-30minutes until the crust turns gancienten brown..

Endelight with your favourite drink.
